The Chevrolet Beat was born to rewrite all expectations about small segment cars. The name "Beat" is very apt for this car. The new Chevrolet Beat is a small segment car which gives a lot new features that any other cars in the same category doesn't give. Let us move to the review section.

Design

The new Cherolet Beat's design is entirely different from any car in the same category. The design is in one word - Radical.

The new Chevrolet Beat is built upon modified platform of Chevrolet Spark. But the new Beat has larger dimensions than it's predecessor - Spark. The Beat which is larger than Maruti Suzuki A-Star has more interior space than Maruti Suzuki Ritz. The dickie space is slightly lesser than that in Ritz. The wheelbase is also slightly larger than that of Ritz and A-Star.

The new Chevrolet Beat has the look of new generation Chevrolets - Large grill and the large Chevrolet logo on the center of the grill and musculine bumper and bonnet.

In first look, the Beat is a three door hatchback. Because the back door handle is placed behind the back door glass area. This gives a sporty look for our stuff. The rear side of the car also has a radical design. The spoiler is integrated in the body itself.

The new Beat's interior color is light black. The fabric seats have good finish and look. Enough leg space is available. Storage space is also sufficient. The consoles including speedometer are arranged behind the steering. The consoles definitely have a fresh look.

Driving

The 4 cylinder 1199 cc engine preserves Euro-4 standards. The maximum power that can be generated by this engine is 79.4 bhp @ 6200 rpm and maxmum torque is 108 Nm @ 4400 rpm. The reason behind the amazing pick up of beat is nothing other than the power delivery of this engine. In addition, the low weight of 965 kg also contributes to the pick up.

Breaking performance and gear shift comfort are excellent. 150/70 R14 inch tubeless tyres are used in Chevrolet Beat.

The Chevrolet Beat will have 4 variants - Chevrolet Beat PS, Chevrolet Beat LS, Chevrolet Beat LT and Chevrolet Beat LT Option. The Chevrolet Beat LT Option has all facilities such as ABS brakes, alloy wheels and spoilers except electronically adjustable wing mirrors.

Ford Flex 2010

Ford Flex  2010 is a 4-door, up to 7-passenger sport-utility manufactured by Ford Motors which is US company , available in 5 variants, ranging from the SE FWD  to the Limited AWD.

Ford Flex  2010 SE FWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 262-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. The Limited AWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 262-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both variants.

+ Interior

The 2009 Ford Flex includes seven-passenger seating, including adjustable and removable footrests for second-row passengers. The second and third row seats fold flat into the floor. The vehicle includes a class-exclusive optional interior "mini-fridge" refrigerator in the middle console mounted between the second-row seats. A voice-activated communications and entertainment system, called Ford Sync, integrates the functions of cell phones, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, compact disc, DVD and other media players, navigation systems, and was developed in collaboration with Microsoft. The interior is lit with programmable "mood lighting" available in seven colors, along with a multi-panel Vista Roof, similar to that on the Ford Edge, for skylighting. The Navigation system has a built in hard drive for music and picture storage.

+ Exterior

The Flex continues Ford's signature chrome horizontal three-bar grille design, as seen on the Edge, Taurus X, Fusion, and 2008 Taurus. The windows and pillars appear blacked out, and the roof is available as either white, silver, or body-colored. The SEL and Limited models offer LED tail lamps and BiXenon headlamps, and a "capless" fueling system without the traditional fuel door and cap, which provides better sealing to reduce evaporative emissions from the fuel tank. The standard wheels are 18-inch (460 mm) diameter, with 19- and 20-inch (480 and 510 mm) versions available.

+ Safety and security

An optional back-up camera, mounted just above the bumper, allows the driver to see obstructions behind the vehicle, displayed on the 8-inch (200 mm) navigation display screen, whenever reverse gear is engaged. The Flex comes with Ford's AdvanceTrac traction control system with roll stability control which helps the driver maintain control on low traction surfaces and during emergency maneuvers. All-wheel-drive is available as an option.

+Powertrain

The Flex's 3.5 L (213 cu in) V6 engine produces 262 hp (195 kW) and 248 lb·ft (336 N·m), and is paired with the 6-speed 6F automatic transmission. A direct-injected twin-turbocharged EcoBoost version is available for the 2010 model. The EcoBoost produces 355 hp (265 kW) and 350 lb·ft (470 N·m) of torque. AWD is required with the EcoBoost engine option. Towing capacity is 4,500 lb (2,000 kg). The all-wheel drive system is capable of transferring up to 100% of torque to the front or rear axle as needed.

+ Chassis

The Flex includes an independent rear suspension system. It is built on the Ford D4 platform, a reengineered and enlarged version of the Ford D3 platform which underpins the 2005-2007 Five Hundred/Freestyle, 2008-2009 Taurus/Taurus X, 2009 Lincoln MKS and 2010 Ford Taurus. This chassis was in turn based on the Volvo P2 platform.

+ Active Park Assist

Offered on the Flex is Ford's Active Park Assist system, which finds and measures a suitable parking space, then operates the steering wheel to accomplish the parallel parking task. This feature uses software control of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system in response to inputs provided by ultrasonic sensors. A competing camera-based system from Lexus takes three times as long.
