In January 2010, Honda announced a recall of 646,000 Fit hatchbacks from 2007-2008 due to a window switch that could catch fire.The Honda recall of Fit or Jazz 2007-08 models is effective immediately worldwide. The recall affects Honda Jazz or Honda Fit models built in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand with approximately 646,000 car sales. In the United Kingdom alone, more than 171,300 Honda Jazz compact cars will be recalled as a protocol although no window malfunction reports were received in the place.
This January 2010 Honda recall of Honda Fit or Jazz is to promote safety of both drivers and passengers of this car model. It was conducted as the company received reports of window switch malfunctions. The master window switch on the driver’s door can malfunction due to exposure of heavy rain or due to overheating circuit boards that are fire hazards.
