Custom Graphics for the Ford Fiesta to be available from the Ford itself.

Seems like it all festive for the coming Ford Fiesta 2011. The Company is giving out new interior and exterior accessories and graphics. Ford's new accessories include a rear roof spoiler (for hatchback only),  and a four-piece, race-inspired body kit with a sculpted front air dam, side skirts, and a sleek rear valance.

Ford is also giving you the option to add custom graphics by Original Wraps, which lets you choose the size and design of body-side graphics from a portfolio of images. Original Wraps has more than 18 designs to choose from and they are available in several colors, and include a cityscape, bubbles, flames, and even ninja blades.

Where as the present 2010 Fiesta is also getting an interior protection package option that comes with all-weather floor mats and a rear cargo area protector, and its new exterior protection package will include splash guards and a rear bumper protector. This is cool, an illuminated interior accessory package will be available with illuminated front door sill plates and shift knob.

It is even getting an interior light kit that includes one LED-generated light in the cup holder area and a light bar in the footwells. The light kit will let you set a mood with seven color choices to create the perfect ambiance.

Vehicle personalization is a booming trend, and the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association anticipates the automotive aftermarket and accessories business to generate more than $27 billion this year.

"The Fiesta already offers customers a range of options to make it their own, from unique exterior colors to interior seating combinations, but with the addition of our accessory options, consumers can take Fiesta personalization to the next level," said Sam De La Garza, Fiesta brand manager in a news release. "Each of the accessories adds a unique flavor to Fiesta, and everybody agrees they can find an accessory or graphic that matches their personality."

Now Ford and Chrysler recalls the vehicle due to warning from NHTSA

After Toyota, now its Ford and Chrysler turn. Ford Motor Co. is recalling 33,700 of its Transit Connect small commercial vans over an interior liner while Chrysler Group said it was recalling certain 2010 SUVs and trucks over a possible brake fluid leak.
Ford is recalling the Transit Connect vehicles sold in the United States and manufactured from December 2008 through May of this year due to an interior liner that fails to meet all safety requirements for head protection.

"In the event of a vehicle crash, an occupant could be at increased risk of injury," the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday in a letter to Ford.

Ford said in correspondence to NHTSA that it would tell dealers to stop delivering affected vehicles until revised head protection is installed. It would notify current owners about repairs.

Separately, Chrysler is recalling certain 2010 Jeep Liberty and Wrangler, Dodge Nitro and Ram 1500 trucks made in the United States that may have been built with an improperly formed tube that could cause brake fluid to leak.

Chrysler is halting sales of the affected vehicles, made in April and May of this year, until the problem covering up to 22,000 vehicles is fixed, the company said in a letter to regulators.

Chrysler, which emerged from a U.S. government-financed bankruptcy last year under the management of Italy's Fiat SpA, will formally notify dealers and vehicle owners next month.

Mopar limited edition of the Challenger to be offered by Chrysler.

Chrysler is going to sell a special Mopar limited edition of the Dodge Challenger sporty car starting in August.

The company will build 500 Mopar 2010 Challengers at its Brampton, Ontario, plant.

Chrysler says the car, with a functional hood scoop, is the first Mopar edition of one of its vehicles. Mopar is Chrysler's service and parts brand.

The automatic transmission version will be priced at $38,000, including freight, while the manual-transmission version will sell for $39,000, including freight. Both will be powered by Chrysler's 5.7-liter Hemi V-8.

The car will be offered in black with three accent colors: blue, red or silver. The accent colors will appear on side stripes and the baseball-style stitching on the steering wheel and seats.

Customers will receive a special kit when they buy the car that includes a certificate with the VIN number and date the car was built along with a sketch of the vehicle by Chrysler Group designer Mark Trostle.

Toyota give time to Development Dept to over come Quality Woes.

Toyota Motor Corp. will give its product development engineers an additional month to complete vehicles to address potential quality problems in an effort to prevent more image-damaging recalls.

"The fast growth of the past decade has been too much in some areas for the company to keep up with," Executive Vice President Takeshi Uchiyamada told reporters at Toyota headquarters today.

He added that Toyota's future growth will be determined by its engineering capacity.

Uchiyamada, who is in charge of research and development, said Toyota has allocated 1,000 engineers to deal with quality issues, up 50 percent.

Of that group, a new team of 100 “Devil's advocate” engineers will work independently to audit vehicle quality from the perspective of drivers, Uchiyamada said.

"It's important for our engineers to look at a vehicle and see how customers might use it in ways that haven't been reflected in our testing," he said, adding that doing so could help identify problems like the issue of stacked or loose floorbefore they hit the market.

"We want them to be a little mean,” he said.
