Yamaha new YZF-R1 Launching Soon in India Specification, Price details

Japanese two-wheeler Yamaha all set to launch their new YZF-R1 in Indian market. The new YZF-R1 is expctedto hit India by next year with other models and variehts.Like the 2007 model YZF-R1 the new 2010 YZF-R1 will be imported from Japan as completely built unit (CBU).Yamaha said that they are expected to sale up to 2.2 lakh units in the Indian market and export 70,000 units from here this year, aiming for a 50% growth is sales from both segments in 2010.

The new YZF-R1 comes powered with 998cc 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, 4-valves, DOHC engine capable of producing a maximum power output of 179 Bhp @ 12500 rpm and a peak torque of 115.5 Nm @ 10000 rpm.Unlike typical inline-four engine design, where the two outer and two inner pistons move together in pairs with 180° intervals, the crossplane crankshaft has each connecting rod 90° with a unique firing order of 270° – 180° – 90° – 180°. This overcomes the inherent fluctuations in inertial torque during each engine revolution, and the accompanying peaky torque characteristics. This MotoGP-inspired engine is without a doubt the most technologically advanced powerplant ever seen on a Yamaha supersport bike. The new engine feels and sounds smoother than ever, and emits an unforgettable growl from the exhaust.

The new YZF-R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions. The maps can be switched to any mode with the help of the button on the handlebar switch. The Drive mode "A" provides a sportier engine response in the low- to mid-speed range and the "B" mode offers ess sharp response for riding situations that require especially sensitive throttle operation.

2010 YZF-R1 available shades:
  • Yamaha Blue
  • Metallic Black
  • Bluish White
2010 YZF-R1 will be available in India through 24 authorized Yamaha CBU dealerships in 13 cities including 4 Yamaha Factory Shops located in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata. The new 2010 YZF-R1 comes with a price tag of Rs 12.5 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, All India).

2009 YAMAHA V MAX SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

Haven't you heard of muscle cars????? The featurs that distinguish them from other cars are quick straight-line acceleration, roaring exhaust and the body resembling the muscles of a body builder. In that sense, Yamaha's V Max is a two wheeler version of the muscle cars. It is more likely a muscle bike than a cruiser bike. Have a look at the features of new Yamaha V Max.

Birth of Yamaha V Max
Yamaha V Max was designed by Yamaha's British designer John Reed in 1985. His design was greatly influenced by the design of American muscle cars. Anyway, the model was a grand success in America. The handling of early models of V Max was very poor. The later versions provided better handling to the rider.

2009 Yamaha V Max-Engine
The 2009 model V Mas has several new features. It was exhibitted at the 2005 Tokyo motor show. The engine displacement has been increased to 1679cc. The max, power has been increased t0 about 200bhp (exactly 197.2 bhp). The new engine which uses fuel injection has Aluminium pistons and specially designed connecting rods. A counter balancer shaft reduces the engine vibration. The large aluminium air intakes in the front carries air to the airbox.
When the engine speed crosses 6650 rpm, the electronically controlled servo motors reduces the length of the inlet valve and helps to increase the power.
The wheelbase has been increased from 1590mm to 1700mm. The length of the swing arm has been increased by 35%. The width of the titanium coated front forks has been incresed to 52mm. The new 6 piston disc break and ABS ensures a safer ride.
Fuel Tank under the seat???
The poly-ethylene fuel tank of the new Yamaha V Max is under the seat. The fuel tank can be opened after turning the levers near the rear suspension. The fuel mode can be changed from "Main" mode to "Reserve" using the switch on the handle bar. There are switches for changing the suspension settings also.
New V Max has modern organic electro luminiscent display containing odo meter, trip meter, clock, fuel & temperature guages, fuel indicator etc.

Price
The price of Yamaha V Max is Rs.20 lakhs!!!!! ie, Rs.10,000 per bhp.

2009 YAMAHA FAZER 150CC REVIEW

When Yamaha motors, India marketed Fazer 125cc in 2004, it had the credit of being the first motor bike in India with "insect eye head lamp". But the 125cc Fazer wasn't a success in the Indian automobile Industry. Now after the great success of Yamaha FZ16 and its successors, Yamaha India has introduced into the Indian roads, all new Yamaha Fazer 150cc. Let's start the journey with our new Fazer.

Design & Styling
In the transition from naked street fighter FZ16 to touring bike Fazer 150cc, the design of the rear view mirror design has been modified. Yamaha motors claim that the new Fazer has become more trendy and safer as a result of this modification. To give the fuel tank a muscular look, plastic resin covering has been provided in new Fazer. The Fazer comes with LCD instrument panel. As a result of the modifications in the fairing, the weight of the bike has increased. The 153cc, 4-stroke air-cooled single cylinder SOHC engine can deliver a maximum power of 13.8 bhp @ 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 14 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The new Fazer is designed in such a way as to ensure better cooling and air flow to the engine. The Fazer has return type 5-speed transmission. To ensure better grip and handling, wider 140/60-17 inch tyres are used at the back of Fazer. The 100/80-17 inch tyres which are used at the rear side of ordinary bikes is used at the front of Fazer. Both the tyres are tubeless. For proper braking, larger 267 mm disc brakes are used in the front tyres. 130 mm drum brake is used at the back.

Drive & Comfort
The new Fazer offers the same drivability as given by the FZ. The Fazer provides efficient performance as FZ. The Fazer is provided with kick start facility. When comparing with FZ16, the Fazer's riding position has been modified so that it is suitable for long journeys. Higher torque and suitable gear ratios expels the burden of frequent gear shift in city driving.

Mileage
45-50 km/L

Fuel Tank Capacity
12 Ltr

Pricing
Rs.71,990/- (Cochin)

Yamaha VMAX launched in India Review

Yamaha Motors India has recently launched the 2009 model Yamaha V-Max in Indian
market. The powerful sports bike is priced at Rs 20,00,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi).

About Design and style,as you could see their is a stylish hand-finished aluminium air intake fitted on both sides of the fuel tank provides a muscular look to the VMAX, which direct an intense flow of air straight into the massive new airbox which is approximately twice the volume of the design on the existing model.

The 2009 Yamaha V-Max is powered with 1679cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 65 degree V4
engine provides a maximum power out of 194 Bhp at 9000 rpm with peak torque of 170 Nm
at 6500 rpm.The all new redesigned VMAX engine uses advanced technologies with features such as as YCC-I (Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake) and YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) helps in gaining such massive powers. This new engine is the first Yamaha V4 engine that uses a new fuel injection system.

In order to keep the new engine’s front-to-rear length as short as possible, the 2009 Yamaha VMAX adopts a 65 degree V bank. This narrower angle between the massive cylinders serves to concentrate mass for more neutral handling performance, and makes the new powerplant 27mm shorter (from front to back) than the original model. The engine not only provide outstanding straight-line performance but also offers excellant performance across the rpm range and also ensures instant pick-up at all engine speeds.

The multi-function Organic Electro-Luminescent “OEL” instrument panel fitted on the top of the fuel tank has a lot of functions which includes:
  • Odometer
  • Tripmeter
  • Clock
  • Fuel gauge
  • Temperature gauge
  • Gear position
  • Running fuel consumption
  • Intake air temperature and throttle opening
  • Stopwatch with a countdown function
The breaking system in new VMAX includes dual 320mm diameter wave-type discs which are gripped by radial-mounted 6-piston calipers is fitted at front end and 298mm Single Disc is at rear end.In order to enhance breaking control in varying road conditions the New Yamaha VMAX is equipped with recently developed linear-controlled hydraulic ABS system.
